Hey Lover is a husband and wife team — Jesse and Elena — with 12 and 7 years of experience photographing and filming weddings. We care deeply about our craft and honour your day by creating high quality, thoughtful photos and videos with attention to the details that make them timeless, heartfelt art pieces out of your real life memories. Inspired by vintage home videos and family wedding photos, our documentarian approach allows us to blend in and capture the intimate vulnerable moments of your wedding day. The result is photos and videos you can look back on and be reminded of how it all really felt: to run down the aisle newly married or your eyes when you saw each other for the first time - not just the romantic moments but the silly moments you may have missed, or a tear shed in the back row.
We shoot with film and super 8 not just because of the rich colour tones of the different film stocks - it changes the way we shoot to be more selective and intentional with every frame we choose to capture. Film is a chemical reaction of the unique light and timing of a precise moment that can’t be replicated - just like all of us, uniqueness is what makes it special.
